Keeping Your Brand Fresh on Social Media in 2022

The last few years have been unpredictable and the regulations seem to change on a weekly basis. In addition to the world around us constantly changing, social media is too! How can you and your business stay top of mind and relevant to your audience?


From what we’ve concluded from our research and personal experience, here are a few ways to ensure that you’re up to date with what’s happening and staying fresh.


1. Be Up to Date, Literally.

With social media regularly developing new features, it’s important to ensure that you have these apps updated so you can have access to what’s new and utilize that to your advantage.

2. Keep Your Content Short, Sweet, and Engaging.
This might sound like an easy thing to do but when you have a lot of information to share or a lot of content, your posts can quickly become too much. Your post is on a feed with hundreds of posts and needs to catch the attention of your followers in seconds to peak their interest. Keep your copy easy to digest. If you have too much information in your caption, the reader will likely move on.

You may hear the term “snackable” content. This is essential to keep consumers’ attention on your brand or business.
65% of people are visual learners and the average attention span is 8 seconds.

3. Be True to Your Brand.
It’s important to keep the content that you post relevant to the brand itself. Utilize your brand colours and fonts. Know the message you’re trying to send and the image you want to portray, and keep your imagery and content relevant to that. Know who you are and make that clear in what you present on your social media channels.


That said, you can still have fun and even post lighthearted or goofy posts as well, but try to connect them to your brand in some way.


4. Take the Time to Research and Self Inform.
It can sound overwhelming to educate yourself on what’s happening in the social media and marketing world, but it doesn’t have to be. Take even
10 minutes each day to read an article on upcoming trends, read a chapter in a relevant book, look at what music is trending for reels or TikToks, or check out a new app or feature! If you take even a few minutes each day, or a few times weekly, you’ll be much more informed by the end of each month.


Overall it can feel overwhelming to keep up to date in a world that changes every day, but with these steps, you can tackle social media and make your brand stand out. Remember, small efforts can lead to big results!
